On Sunday, October 21st Attorney Patricia D. Stewart, author of The Health Care Decision Guide for Catholics addressed Holy Family and Star of the Sea Parishioners on the moral and legal issues surrounding the so-called Death with Dignity legislation initiative. Attorney Stewart, a practicing Catholic and member of Saint Helen Church in Norwell, MA, spoke on behalf of the Massachusetts Alliance Against Doctor Prescribed Suicide.  The Alliance consists of doctors, lawyers and members of the health care profession and provides voters education and information on a variety of legal issues.

Commemorative Community Rosary 10/13 on the Occasion of the Anniversary of Fatima's Miracle of the Sun (O Milagre do Sol)

Our Blessed Mother has requested all of God’s children to pray the rosary for the conversion of souls. The Holy Family faithful joined together for a community Rosary, held in honor of Mary, Our Lady of Fatima. Led by Father Michael, the Rosary was prayed in front of the Mary statue to the left of the main entrance of the church at HFP.

Blessing of the Animals 2012

As autumn arrives, people in various places may notice something odd.  A procession of animals, everything from dogs and cats to hamsters and even horses, is led to churches for a special ceremony called the Blessing of Animals.  This custom is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures.
