Boston Black Catholic Choir at Holy Family


The Archdiocese of Boston Black Catholic Choir was established in 1992 to “enhance liturgies and prayer services and to present concerts throughout the Archdiocese of Boston and beyond by raising their voices in song to the Lord.” Under the direction of Meyer J. Chambers, the choir sings uplifting and spiritual music from the black Catholic perspective.

BBCC performed in concert on 9/29/2013 at Holy Family Parish in Amesbury, MA.

WALK 4 the POOR 2013


Seeking not only to talk the talk, but to walk the walk, the Holy Family Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) encouraged the communities of Amesbury, Merrimac, and Salisbury to take to the streets and WALK 4 the POOR 4K (2.5 miles) around downtown Amesbury, on Saturday, September 28th. In doing so, the local chapter of the national SVdP organization, raised funds to be used in assisting the poor throughout the three towns.

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus


We often sing hymns without giving a lot of thought to their origins. This story left me wondering if I could show such courage and commitment. One thing for sure, this (explanation) sure will give the hymn, I have decided to follow Jesus new meaning for me!

Ladies Group’ Mini-Tour & Lunch

Ladies of Holy Family, remembering the Town of Amesbury from years back, began to reintroduce themselves to the City of Amesbury as it is today.
Their first excursion took place on Thursday, August 22nd with a visit to Lowell's Boat Shop, a National Historic Landmark where Patricia Hoyt, recently retired Amesbury High School teacher, gave a detailed tour of the boat house. After the tour, the group met at the Hollow Café for lunch.
