Honoring Doctor Schissel
The gallery window honors a very special man and a very special family. Doctor Schissel was my families' doctor, but more importantly a special friend to my Mom and Dad and my entire family, as is the entire Schissel family. I can honestly say, the Schissels are among the finest. I remember many many camping trips with him and the knowledge and caring he imparted on me. What a special man, he delivered me at birth and treated me through college. He practiced his career as one of those Black bag, family home visit doctors. Sure he had a downtown office, but he would be at your door at 2 am if you needed him! The ultimate family doctor, the ultimate family man. America at its best, Amesbury at its best! RIP Doctor Schissel, you are missed and loved. Love to all the Schissels! Another reason I LOVE my hometown! Tears in my eyes just reminiscing.
