NEWS FROM THE PASTORAL COUNCIL AND FINANCE COUNCILS

Members of the Pastoral Council and Finance Councils participated recently in training for Disciples in Mission (www.disciplesinmission.com), the Archdiocese of Boston's Pastoral Plan. Representatives from the Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese presented information and led discussion about finances, real estate, human resources, and canon law. Participants also took part in a brief case study. Members of these Councils will participate in the final of three trainings on Saturday, January 31, 9:00a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Saint Michael Parish in North Andover. The topic will be evangelization.

NEWS FROM THE PASTORAL COUNCIL AND FINANCE COUNCILS

On Saturday, October 4, twenty-eight members of the parishes in our collaborative (members of the one Pastoral Council and the two Finance Councils) traveled to Saint Michael Parish in North Andover to join Pastoral Council and Finance Council members from the other Phase Two parishes and collaboratives in the Merrimack Region for a day of training - "Preparation for Parish Collaborative Ministry". The day, which was led by the Catholic Leadership Institute (www.catholicleaders.org), started with prayer and included presentations and conversations about Disciples in Mission (www.disciplesinmission.com), the role of the various Councils, assumed constraints, the nature of a collaborative, and the strengths and differences of the parishes in our collaborative. The experience also strengthened the sense of community and support among the members of our Councils. Members of these Councils will participate in the second of three trainings on Wednesday, October 22, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Saint Michael Parish in North Andover.
